ur Programs
Each year our Program Committee offers a number of workshops, presentations and exhibitions for members and the general public. Such workshops have been on such topics as Genealogy, Archival Procedures, Preserving Our Heritage. Presentations have included Historic Homes, Commercial and Public Buildings and Cottages of the area.
In 1995, bus tours were organized to visit historic points of interest in the southern Lake of the Woods area and important Manitoba sites.
Historic re-enactors are brought to the area each year as part of our educational programming in the schools.
Many school groups visit the Historic Mather-Walls house each year. Special programs are created each year for the local school boards.
Special exhibits are on display at the Mather-Walls house, each depicting a specific aspect of our past.
The board also provides guest speakers to local service clubs and organizations in order to further local knowledge of our rich history.
Special Events at the Mather-Walls include Victorian Valentines Day Teas, Victoria Day Teas, Canada Day Celebrations, End of Season Blueberry teas, Halloween Haunts, and a family Victorian Christmas party.
